Creating a healthy home for your family
You want your home to be a safe haven for your family, free from the air quality problems found in the outside environment. Yet you may be unaware that indoor air quality (IAQ) can have a major effect on your family’s health, comfort, and safety as well. Common symptoms of exposure to indoor air pollutants include fatigue, headaches, nausea, scratchy throat, and nasal irritation.
The EPA has identified indoor air pollution as one of the top five urgent environmental risks to public health.
Many people spend up to 90% of their time indoors. Exposure to indoor pollutants has increased because buildings are constructed with fewer windows and are more “airtight”, while the use of chemicals in household cleaners, construction materials, and pest control products has increased.
But you can do something about it: The Air Advice IAQ monitor.
Health
Regular cleaning, proper ventilation, and air filtration reduces molds, dust, germs, gases, and excess moisture that can trigger allergies, illness, and asthma attacks.
Comfort
Balanced temperature and humidity create a cozy environment in winter, and a cool, pleasant indoor climate in summer.
Safety
Good ventilation and proper maintenance of furnaces, ductwork, and exhaust systems prevents carbon monoxide poisoning and excess fumes.
TESTIMONIALS
I was trying to track down the source of an allergy problem I was having in my home. The AirAdvice IAQ test gave me the peace of mind to see that the new air filter installed by my HVAC contractor is working and that VOC levels in the home are fine. Looking at the AirAdvice report, I definitely saw the air particle emissions in my home drop really quick when the furnace was running. We plan to do another AirAdvice test after we remove carpeting and other suspected allergy sources from our home.

The [AirAdvice] test reaffirmed what we suspected was the problem. Our daughter has allergies and frequently has coughing spells at night. The test showed how bad the particle levels were in our home. It was remarkable to see and understand what was really going on. Afterwards, we were able to cut the particle levels by 75%. I would totally recommend the test to anyone who is concerned about their family's health. We were really on the fence about investing in better air quality – but once we saw the difference, we knew we did the right thing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AirAdvice IAQ test?
The AirAdvice IAQ test evaluates your home’s indoor air quality. The test pinpoints air quality problems that can affect you or family’s health, as well as their comfort and safety.
How does the AirAdvice test work?
Performing the test is easy. Your HVAC professional places an AirAdvice IAQ monitor in your home for a few days so it can measure temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and airborne particles in one-minute cycles. This data is stored in the monitor until it can be transmitted from the home over the phone lines late at night to AirAdvice via a toll free number.
How big is the AirAdvice IAQ monitor?
The monitor, which is about the size of a paperback book, is unobtrusive and quiet. It plugs into your existing phone line and requires no new wiring. And it won’t interrupt current phone or Internet connections.
I don’t have a phone line available. Can I still have an AirAdvice test?
Yes. In locations where a phone line is unavailable or difficult to reach, the monitor has enough memory to store up to 14 days worth of data.
What can the AirAdvice test tell me?
The test can pinpoint air quality problems in your home that can affect you or your family’s comfort, health, and safety. AirAdvice uses the data collected from the monitor to generate personalized reports about your home’s indoor air quality. View an example IAQ report.
So what do I do with this information?
Using the results of your AirAdvice test, you and your HVAC professional can work together to select the best solution. Solutions may include lifestyle changes, improved ventilation, better thermostats, humidifiers or dehumidifers, advanced air cleaning technology, or carbon monoxide detectors.
What about my privacy? Does the AirAdvice monitor contain a camera or audio recording device?
No. The monitor can only measure and store information about your home’s indoor air quality.
